Like a lot of new-build homeowners will know, the baths that come as standard aren’t the best. They’re small, shallow, and fitted with blending valves that stop you from having a properly hot soak. In the nine years I lived in my old place, I think I only managed three baths for that reason.

This time, we went in the complete opposite direction — fitting a proper, deep bath you can fill right to the top and really relax in.

We also floated the sink and towel rail to keep the floor clear and give the room a cleaner, more open feel. With modern colours and a sleek finish, the transformation speaks for itself — this bathroom really puts the old one to shame.
